Groove Keeps Crashing - Groove encountered an internal error

I am running Groove 3.1a and have a problem that it keeps crashing with the
following error: -

"Groove encountered an internal error and is unable to continue. Please
restart Groove"

This happens very regularly but with no definite pattern. It does seem to
happen more often when using Windows explorer. I have also noticed in Windows
explorer that some folders in Windows explorer are still associated with
Groove when they have been removed from the Groove console.

Has anyone had a similat problem and know how to solve it?

Many thanks in advance
