Groove Relay 2007 has disappearing messages

David

I'm kind of desperate as there is so little true documentation on how Groove
works internally.

Here is my problem:
I have a Groove Relay 2007 server running on an X64 Windows 2003 system.
The Groove Relay is successfully tied to a Groove Manager running on
Rackspace.com. The clients themselves successfully connect to the Groove
Relay during the day and successfully send messages and update workspaces.

The problem is when on the weekends when a random user comes online and
sends a message to someone who is offline. When the user sends the message,
they get a "Sent, Waiting for Delivery...". According to what I read online
a "Sent, waiting for delivery..." means that the message left the client and
has successfully been delivered to the Groove Relay and is waiting for the
client to come online. HOWEVER, when the recipient comes back online, that
message is never delivered! It is stuck forever in limbo. It will never
arrive. This is random, as some messages go through and others do not.

I have tried numerous things. First, I run the Groove Relay purge only on
wednesdays at 1AM. Secondly, I have forced the clients not to use the
Microsoft public Relay by editing the /etc/hosts file and tricking the
client's computers into thinking that the microsoft relay is the local relay.

I'm at wits end. Can anyone help me???

Thanks
David
