I would like to be able to choose several of my "contacts"
from the OUTLOOK 97 and group them into one address, so
that I do not have to go through selecting them each time,
but rather just click that "one" group contact.

You need to create a distribution list. You should be able to do that in
the Contacts folder with File>New>Distribution list.
