Hello All,
How can i create a group of resource. For instance "installation team"
which contains 1 engineer+2 technician+4 helpers as resource group
rather than assigning each other as resource.
Best Regards.

Hello Engineer12345,

You can create a resource "Installation Team" with a maximum units of
700% representing all seven resources. You can then assign that
"Installation Team" resource with any assignment unit up to 700% without
overallocating the resource.

However, in my opinion, multiple units (max. above 100%) should really
only be used where the resources are truly equivalent in terms of cost
and skills. I assume that the engineer in your team may have some
specialized skills that the others may not. Having resources assigned
at above 100% also makes it somewhat difficult to assign clear
responsibility. For example, if I assign 200% of the "Installation
Team" resource there needs to be clear communication about which 2 of
the 7 people are going to take responsibility for the task.

An alternate option would be to create the resources as individuals and
use the Group field to enter "Installation Team". You can then display
tasks assigned to the group using the Resource Group filter. You can
also filter the list in the Assign Resources dialog box to show only
those resource belonging to the "Installation Team" group.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for your time and kind respond.
I guess i couldnt describe my idea compering with your answer.
I would like to create teams which will perform different jobs on th
site.
For each team consist of engineer, foremans, helpers etc. And even i wil
create teams for the same kind job where they will work on diffferen
levels.
İn the task information window i would like to choose these team
as resourse rather than choose each one by one as person.

Best Regard

I believe a variation on Julie's response will meet your needs.
Create resources called Installation Team #1, Installation Team #2, etc.
Max units for each team would be 700% as Julie said. The cost for using this
resource becomes the sum of the costs for each individual that makes up that
one team. The work for each team becomes 7*8=56 Hours/day so you have to
remember to assign it that way.... This means you only assign Team#1 at 700%
units and never anything else--- the team lives together.

So, each team can be assigned to separate jobs and move together as a group
although they were not created that way. If you owned a Pool Plastering
Company you could have Demo Team, Plaster Team, Finish Team. They would
travel to pool sites independently.

Voice of experience - Be careful. If "Johnny" is a resource, and, he is also
a member of "Installation Team #3" there is no way for Project to know if
Johnny is overallocated. You have to monitor this situation manually using
the Resource Usage and Task Usage Views.

Personally, we use Julie's method #2.
