half a page not printed in duplex

I'm sure there's an easy answer but I'm baffled.

I'm printing a two page spread, but everything is pushed over to the right
so there's a huge margin on the left and only half of the page on the right
is printed. It looks fine in regular view, but the problem is visible in
print preview, so it's not a problem with the way the printer is set up.

I'm modifying someone else's work, but the problem exists in the unmodified
documents that must have printed correctly last year.

It's Publisher 2003 if that makes a different

If it is not correct in print preview, then it probably is a printer setup
problem. Setup your printer again. Is it the same printer as last year? Is the
printer driver current?

The printer setup looks fine. I installed the most recent printer driver,
which was not Microsoft certified and had the same problem. So I
re-installed the older printer driver, still have the problem.

In a different application (Word) I got an error message whil in
Print|Properties where I was planning to switch to legal size paper because
the Publisher doc uses legal size paper.

Error message was:
Function address 0x6ec2eb6 caused a protection fault. Exception code
0xc0000094 the application property sheet page(s) may not function properly.

could that be related?

I have no clue. The error can be anything. There is a possibility it is caused
by your anti-virus software or a faulty printer driver.

If you decide to re-install your printer driver, it is best to completely remove
the driver before you reinstall. What model printer do you have?

Well, I've figured out that it's a problem with the printer driver. I
emailed the doc to someone else who printed it w/o problem. There's a fault
in the software or in the way it's installed that disables the paper
selection part of the printer driver even when I uninstall and re-install it.

At least I have a workaround. Thanks for your help!

I'm glad you have it all sorted out. It is too bad your printer driver is the
way it is. You should get in touch with the manufacturer, they may update the
driver if enough folks complain.
