have a ppt slide show given and I only want to print out a few pic

this is the name of the file given to me. I can watch it as a slide show,
but am unable to single out one picture to print . . . it wants to print the
entire file.

You should be able to do this by going to the file menu, selecting print,
then in the print range section clicking on "Slides" and entering the slide
numbers required. Alternatively go to view menu, then slide sorter, click on
the slides you want (use Ctrl for multiple selections), copy them (ctrl + C)
and paste them to a new file where you can print them out.

If you are using the PowerPoint Viewer to view the file you can only print the
entire file.
