Have I found a bug in Outlook's filters?

K

kilowatt

I have two filters I use. I take my contacts and move them to a folder
called "Friends".
The second filter I use takes any message with my first name, last
name, or my nickname in the subject/body and also puts them in the
"Friends" folder.

I month or so I started getting mail in my "Friends" folder that I
could not understand why. Now there are more and more showing up. I
found out that the reason I am getting unexpected mail in my "Friends"
folder is because the mail is addressed to "friend"

I thought that because friend was so close to "Friends" that was the
reason they made it to the special folder. I changed the filters to
move the messages to a folder named "Home" instead.

It still doesn't matter. Any message that comes addressed to "friend"
some how gets moved to the "Home" folder.

Can anyone explain how this happens?

Do the messages contain your name in any part of them? If they're HTML
messages there might be a text component that contains info that your rules
are triggering off of
