header on pages

HI I have designed a template for our club meetings, and I wish to have a
header on first page with a graphic in it but do not want this header on any
other page is there a way of doing this

Yes, from the Layout tab of the File>Page Setup dialog, check the Different
First Page box.

Look for the option that says Different First Page for headers and footers.
It's in slighlty different places depending on which version of Word you are
using.
