Heading styles in the Header/Footer

I am using the built-in heading styles (1.0 Heading one, 1.1 Heading two, etc.) in a document. The Heading one style only is in the header of the document. It will not appear in my table of contents. Why? and how can I fix ?? I am using Work 2000.

Things in headers are, by definition, on multiple pages. They can't be
displayed in a Table of Contents.

Put your Heading 1 on the first page where you want it to appear. If it is
to appear on other pages as well, put it in the header using a StyleRef
field.
{ StyleRef "Heading 1" \* CharFormat }
