HELP! MSP2007 Read only password error

Help, I just upgraded to MSP07 professional from MSP03 Professional. My
problem is my files are read only protected. I open the file WITH the
password, then save the file. When I try to reopen the file it says bad
password, if i try to open it read only, it says it has over 1,000,000 lines
and will not open the file.

All my working files are set to read only protection. As I open them I am
corrupting them... Help, what I'm I doing wrong, or how do I fix it????

Hi Steve,

I'm sorry to say, I can replicate the error you are reporting. I had some
success in testing the following:

It appears that you can successfully open the file in Project 2007 with the
write protection password. It's only after saving the file in Project 2007
with the write protection password that the errors occur. When I first saved
the file in Project 2007, I was prompted and asked about saving the file as a
Project 2002/2003 file format. When I saved as 2002/2003 format, I was able
to re-open the file in Project 2007, supply the password and carry on.

Tried as you recommended. It work for me.

Also found that on first open, go straight to remove "read only" options /
password and save. Close file, and then reopen. It clears the problem.
