Help Needed! Update Embedded Objects in Publisher 2003

I've not seen that message.

When you copy-and-paste or import something without linking it the objects
are said to be embedded in the document.

If you then change the object outside of Publisher the changes are not
reflected in the copy embedded in the document.

You can tell if an object is embedded or linked by using the Graphics
Manager on the Tools menu.

Apparently the message you are seeing indicates that Publisher has noticed
something change in the source object and is asking if you want to update
it.

What happens if you tell it to update the embedded object?

It takes forever to print the document

does it print--eventually?

and do you get the message again?

Do you know what the specific object is that is causing the problem?

Can you unembed it and link it instead? (select it go to graphics manager
and have it linked--exact process depends on verison of Pub you are using.)

It only asks when we cut and paste from another software to Update Embedded
Objects. We scan pictures and bring them in Publisher.

Thanks,

Lynne
