Help with Task Reminders

Help!!! I have a task that is 100% complete, was updated
to the project manager and the projec plan was saved to
the server indicating the task was complete. I'm still
getting daily task reminder email messages indicating a
progress update is needed. The project manager even
deleted the task to try to get rid of these messages and
I'm still receiving them. Any ideas?

When you say that the task is 100% complete, did you as
the team member mark it as 100% in your Project Web Access
and update this status to the PM and did he then accept
your update and update the project from Web Access ?

If the PM marks the task as 100% complete in the project,
that does not complete your task in project server.

Also, deleting a task from the project will not delete
that same task from your list of tasks in web access. You
have to manually "Hide" the task from your task list.

Let me know if this helps.

Yes to both questions. I updated the task in web access,
the PM accepted my update and re-published the project
plan so the change was applied to the server. However I'm
still receiving emails indicating an update is required.
I could go in and turn off my notifications but then it
would turn it off for all projects.

Deleting the tasks from the project plan was a last ditch
effort to get rid the of email messages but it didn't
help. I'm aware that the task will not disappear from my
task list. I just want to get the emails to stop!

Dear All,

I know "Me Too" posts are frowned upon but seeing as 2 weeks have
elapsed with no replies to this post and the fact that this topic
has been raised more than once (also see "Task Reminders - Closed
tasks still there" posted on 2/24/2003) without a resolution
short of turning off Task Reminders, I wanted to give additional
visibility to this annoying issue...

It would make sense that once a resource has completed a task,
logged on to Project Web Access and sent an update to his/her
Project Manager showing the task as 100% complete, the Project
Manager accepts the update (updating the project plan) and
republishes the plan to the Project Server, these tasks should no
longer be included in subsequent Task Reminder emails.
Unfortunately, these tasks, showing remaining work as 0, continue
to clutter the reminder.

Before replying to this post, I did search the MS Knowledge Base.
I found a non-regression tested hotfix specific to Task Reminder
Notifications (see KB Article 812638) but the issue it reportedly
corrects has to do with the Project Name not being included in
the emails sent to multiple resources assigned to a single task
(only the first resource receives an email with the Project Name
included). I obtained the hotfix but have not yet installed it.
My hope is that this hotfix may also address the issue of these
100% complete task reminders.

Has anyone gone as far as installing this hotfix and, if so, does
it also stop the 100% complete task reminders? If not, has anyone
found a resolution to this issue?

Thank you,
Rob
