Dear All,
I know "Me Too" posts are frowned upon but seeing as 2 weeks have
elapsed with no replies to this post and the fact that this topic
has been raised more than once (also see "Task Reminders - Closed
tasks still there" posted on 2/24/2003) without a resolution
short of turning off Task Reminders, I wanted to give additional
visibility to this annoying issue...
It would make sense that once a resource has completed a task,
logged on to Project Web Access and sent an update to his/her
Project Manager showing the task as 100% complete, the Project
Manager accepts the update (updating the project plan) and
republishes the plan to the Project Server, these tasks should no
longer be included in subsequent Task Reminder emails.
Unfortunately, these tasks, showing remaining work as 0, continue
to clutter the reminder.
Before replying to this post, I did search the MS Knowledge Base.
I found a non-regression tested hotfix specific to Task Reminder
Notifications (see KB Article 812638) but the issue it reportedly
corrects has to do with the Project Name not being included in
the emails sent to multiple resources assigned to a single task
(only the first resource receives an email with the Project Name
included). I obtained the hotfix but have not yet installed it.
My hope is that this hotfix may also address the issue of these
100% complete task reminders.
Has anyone gone as far as installing this hotfix and, if so, does
it also stop the 100% complete task reminders? If not, has anyone
found a resolution to this issue?
Thank you,
Rob
