Help with Video on page please.

Hi all,
I want to be able to include a short video on a web page which plays in a loop and starts
automatically, and also plays in its own window (preferably without player controls showing).
Is it possible?
If so, what is the best format to use, and can anyone recommend an ideal video conversion tool for
the job.
