I have asked for help twice and have recieved a reply twice. Both times I am
unable to see the text. I am directed to click a link to read the reply. it
opens a blank window. Please respond using my hotmail address
(e-mail address removed). Then I should be able to see the text.
My origional question is:
How do i set the default paper feed to auto when using Publisher 2007?
Thank you

======================================

For your paper feed...try opening Publisher and go to...
File / Print Setup / Publication and Paper Settings tab...
Paper / Source / Automatically Select.

If you are receiving private e-mail from an unknown
source I would suggest that you delete it unopened.
The regulars in this newsgroup will respond to the
newsgroup not to personal e-mail.

Not many are going to search for your old question or the link you are on
about.

please give us some clues

So you have told us your first problem but what is it you cannot read???

Generally we do not reply to private email because then the value of a
discussion is lost as it is if you keep writing new questions and not
keeping the link to the problem so others can follow what is going on.

Further to what John I. said printer settings vary from printer to printer
and you did not tell us what printer you are using.

Hello Folks
May I jump in here and try to explain because I have the same problem.

After I have posed a question and very helpfully received an answer, I get a
confirmation email. In this email there are two links; One that reads "Click
here to read and rate the answer" and one that reads "Click here to continue
to receive answers" (or words to that effect).

Clicking on either of the two links will only open a blank window and hence
will not connect to this website group. The way I have read any answers is to
'manually' connect to the website and look though the list for my original
question.

Not a great problem for me, but I think that this is what the OP is on about.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all if I have no more posts before then.

I still maintain that regardless of who the
sender is...if they are unknown to you...
delete it unopened.

Best bet is to set up Outlook Express or
Windows Mail to read and reply to your
newsgroups in plain text.

Hello John

When I typed my original post, there was a check box that reads "Notify me
of any replies". I checked this box and later on had an email, so that i knew
someone had replied.
I therefore knew that the email had come from this Microsoft Discussion
group. Are you saying that we should not open even these emails. I did ask
for it arrive in the first place.

Thankng you and best regards.

This is not a forum what you are seeing originates in an nntp newsgroup
(Usenet)...you are probably using a clunky website frontend being feed from
usenet - which may or may not work. Learn to use nntp in Outlook Express or
Windows Live Mail readers (there are other newsreaders too)...and you won't
have those problems.

You asked so I'll tell you...personally I would not
approve the 'notify me' message. Why? Because
it just spreads your e-mail address and helps
to fill your inbox with time wasters.

If you read your messages with Outlook Express
or Windows Mail it is very fast and you do not
have to manually sign in every time you want to
check your e-mail.

And if I did approve it...would I open the resulting
updates? Only if I was positive of the sender. Fact
is...some e-mail that 'appears' to be from reliable
sources is not legit. Do I sound paranoid? Probably...
but e-mail is a main source of virus and I prefer to
avoid it. Open the wrong message and bang! You
are infected.

I definitely agree that using Outlook Express or Windows
Mail to read and reply to newsgroup messages is the
best way by far.

But...err....uhh...this is not Usenet...Microsoft Newsgroups
originate on a Microsoft server.

Using Outlook Express or Windows mail you can ONLY get Microsoft
Newsgroups.
Using Thunderbird or other independent email clients, you can get ALL
Usenet groups, including Microsoft groups (depending on your internet
provider of course).
===========================
Hi Erika,

Yes, you can access Usenet from
Outlook Express and Windows Mail.
You just have to set up an account with
the appropriate server. Several options
below...

Maybe users prefer Giganews...
but it's not free.
http://www.giganews.com/

Searching for Newsgroups with Microsoft
Outlook Express
http://tinyurl.com/6kxssp
or...
http://www.giganews.com/usenet-university/finding-newsgroups-outlook-express.html

The following free server might be worth
a try also.

test.news.mediaways.net

There's also a great community called
AnnexCafe that has lots of useful newsgroups
but you do have to sign up for a free account.
http://www.annexcafe.com/newsgroups/

The tech group where I find lots of useful
info is called:
annexcafe.general.user2user
