An Excel file will appear as a table when inserted into a Word document. I would try Insert | File and choose the database file you want to insert. If the data source is a text file delimited with commas or semicolons or the pipe symbol, you can convert the text to a table using the Table menu in Word (Convert Text to Table). The data source document might be too large for Word to open, but you can always try and see if you get an error message.
