History of Changes?

L

Louise

I have been asked by a colleague how to use the 'history of changes' in
PowerPoint? Apparently, he says there is a function that will list
everything that you have been doing to a presentation.

As I don't use PowerPoint very often, I don't know if this function exists
and, if so, where it is/how it works.

Can anybody tell me if there is such a function and where it is?

Thank you.

Ask your colleague for more details and whether he is sure that he means
PowerPoint. PowerPoint doesn't provide a "native" function to track changes.
However, to a certain and limited extent it does internally track changes in
order to support the "undo" function. But that tracking isn't available to the
User Interface. If we understood better what your colleague wants to do we
might be able to offer some suggestions.

You have just confirmed what I thought any way. I know Excel has the
facilit with the 'history sheet' etc but i'm not aware of a similar function
in PowerPoint.

I have asked my colleague for more details and will post again when I
receive anything.

Thanks again.

Hello again

My colleague informs me that the topic is called "tracking and accepting
changes to the presentation". Again, I am aware of this function in Word but
not PowerPoint?

Also, can you point me in the right direction for some help relating to
'working with multiple masters'?? He is sitting a PowerPoint exam and failed
on this topic.

Thanks again for your help.

First of all, tell your colleague that it is best if he learns how to access the
newsgroup himself and he'll be able to ask his questions directly, but more
importantly he'll learn a lot about PowerPoint by just reading through the
questions and answers from others.

The PowerPoint Newsgroup is your Friend

What he needs to study up on is the Review process. You can send a presentation
to someone else "for review" and they can make changes and add comments and then
send the presentation back to him. It is then that he'll have an option to
accept the suggested changes. He'll need to actually use the feature to fully
understand how it works and what it looks like. It starts with File > Send for
Review.

For multiple masters you can refer him to
