Hourly Scheduling

I am working on a tight shutdown schedule where tasks are being scheduled to
the hour. I created a 24 hour project calendar since work is generally
around the clock but can't find a way to create a new task which may start at
8AM because constraint dates don't show to the hour even though I am entering
by the hour. The only way I found to get an 8 AM start was to put 8 hours of
slack in as a task in front of the true task. Similarly when I look at task
details it simply says the date of completion and I am looking for the date
and hour?

Any suggestions? I am running Project 2000 and would be glad to upgrade if
hourly scheduling has improved.

Hi Colembo,

Try Tools > Options. On the View tab under Date Format, select a format
which shows time as well as date.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

I love you JulieS, many thanks. I don't believe it was that easy. No one I
worked with could figure it out and were ready to swear MS Project off as a
scheduling tool
for shutdowns but that was too simple.

This was also my first use of the discussion groups so thanks for the help!!
