Hours worked by resource by task

Good Friday (not Easter!)

Firstly, please excuse me if I use some wrong terminology, I'm on a French
version of 2003 so the words are different & I'm having to guess at what they
would be on the Eng version!

I have a team of 10 & a total of 5 tasks being worked on, at the end of the
week I want to be able to enter the number of hours each man has worked on
each task & then see the number of hours worked on the task.

I can enter the data on the Resource usage table, but this is not as hours
"worked", it is just as hours.
So I then have to manually enter it into the task table (by adding up the
daily totals from the resource view) as being hours completed (thereby
changing % completed, % remaining etc automatically)

Am I missing a trick? (do I make sense?)

Posting this at 17h00 French time, so any replies will not been seen until
Monday, apologies therefore if you reply & I ignore you for 2 days

bon weekend!

Helen,
I have no knowledge about the differences between the English and French
versions but for your question, it should simply be a language
conversion. When you say you can enter hours into the Resource Usage
table they WILL be the hours "worked" as long as the data is entered on
the Actual Work row. Doing so will adjust % Work Complete (and %
Complete) and also adjust the Remaining Work value.

Now, am I missing something?

Hope this helps.

Bonjour Helen! When you say that you are entering hours worked on the
Resource Usage view, are you entering the amounts in the Work field, or
the Actual Work field? It should be the Actual Work field (in the
timescaled portion of the screen, on the right), then you may need to
adjust the value in the Remaining Work field. If you do this for each
resource, then the task on the Gantt view will show the total amount of
Actual Work and total amount of Remaining Work for the task across all
of the assigned resources.

Bon chance,

Bonjour Helen,

La réponse à votre question se trouve dans l'affichage Utilisation des
Tâches plutôt que Utilisation de ressources!
In English, you need the Task Usage view rather than the resource usage
view; It gives you resource on each tak and a total by task.
