How can I change a 'incorrect' password in Word 2007?

A

Aunty Val

I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium am now
using Word 2007. I had my data transferred from my old PC which used Windows
XP and Word 2000. My problem is that I had two diary documents which were
password protected and now I cannot open them because I get a message saying
'password incorrect'. I am 99.9% certain that I am entering the correct
password. Will I be able to get access to these documents or must I accept
that they are 'lost'?

You may want to go to cnet.com and do a search on password as they have
programs that crack passwords. Sometimes the program is a trial version and
may only give you the first 3 characters of the password because they want
you to purchase the full program but... having those first characters may
help you remember the password.

If you still have the old PC, open the documents on that PC, remove the
password then transfer the data.
