How can I copy slides with backgrounds?

Hello

When I copy a slide and paste it into another presentation, its background
automatically disappears or changes.

What's the reason and how can I prevent this?

Thank you

Depending on your version of PowerPoint you should have the option to retain
original formatting when inserting slides form one presentation to another.
If you don't, you would then have to link one presentation to the other.

I learned how to click on "Paste options" and select "Keep original
formatting", but isn't there any way to "keep original formatting" by
default without selecting this choice for every new presentation?

Thank you]

If you use the insert slide from presentation method you only have to tell
it to maintain formatting just once. Or, if you open your presentation in
the slide sorter view, select all the slides you want to copy, you get the
same option to keep formatting for all slides.
