How can I erase previously typed text in a box?

I have typed text in various columns. I am needing to change the text in a
particular box. When i erase it it still shows in a lighter form? How can i
get rid of it so that I can retype in the box?

What's the name and version of the
program you are using?

What happens if you...left click / drag...
your cursor across the unwanted type
to highlight it and press your Delete
key. Or...once the unwanted text is
highlighted...just begin typing the new
copy.

It is Publisher. I did the highlight and delete, and it is still there, but
in a lighter form.

And what version are you using?

To make it easy for us, post the full version name and number as displayed

It is only saved as a document, not yet as a template. I can't go back in the
cell to see if it is set as a shadow. It won't allow me to highlight the word
that is still there.

Yes, but is the document based on a pre-made Publisher template?

Is this a table or a text box?

Save your publication, what happens if you delete the table/text box
altogether? (Save, so that you can discard changes and re-open the
publication if you lose anything)

It is not yet saved as a template, only as a document.I can't highlight where
the old text was to see if it was shadowed.

That makes sense, yes it is based on a Proposal template that is in the
program.

It is a text box in a series of columns. I need to change the text in one
box in one column and this is where the problem comes from.

I really can't delete it as I am using the space for another category.

Why can't you delete it again?

If you Save the publication, then delete it, then it disappears. Then close
Publisher, and click "No" when asked if you want to save changes. Then
reopen your publication. Magically, your text box comes back again.

I've seen similar things happen with lines and some text. It's probably a
driver issue, but each time it happens I simply zoom (resize) the screen to
a larger view and then go back to the original viewing size. It makes no
difference if the zoom is done by using ctrl+mouse wheel or if from the
menu. It corrects the situation either way.

Just to let you know, it has not magically disappeared. The shadow of the
text remains. i will see if the local OIT people can help with the driver.
