How can I get around "Couldn't translate this file" when opening .

I've received a PowerPoint file that I am unable to open in PowerPoint 2003
Service Pack 1. When trying to open the file I receive a messagebox saying
"PowerPoint couldn't Translate this file". Is there anything I can do to
sort this out? Or, if I need to contcat the person who sent the file to me,
What should I tell them to do to correct the problem? MS kowledge base
articles only mention Office 97 and this person is using Office 2000

Are you sure the error isn't something like "PPT couldn't read this file" or
"PPT cannot open this file"? If so, maybe try this:
