The file format of Works has changed a number of times. There is a Works
converter available to install in Office setup. If that won't open the file,
then try one of the older converters which are linked from the downloads
page of my web site.

Try seeing if WordPad can open it... It sometimes succeeds when Word is too
intelligent for its own good...
