How can I Outlook Today to display Tasks and Appointments?

I've gone through the troubleshooting, and I still can't get anything to show
up in the Outlook Today folder. I can't Customize it, or pick a style or get
any type of menu to do so. The only thing that shows up in the Outlook Today
folder is Messages. Did I miss something?
