how can I remove menu bar in Picture Manager ?

Freezing in the dark

I wish to maximize the picture display area in Picture Manager but I can not
remove the menu bar nor combine it with the view selection bar. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean, you can right-click the toolbar and uncheck everything but
the menu bar. The menu bar is there to stay.
