How can I troubleshoot my Publisher 2000 ?

All of a sudden my Publisher 2000 is not opening documents. I can choose
recently saved documents from my folders to open, then I get a message re:
the fonts that are embedded (all of which are in the computer and have been
used in the past) and that they will be replaced. I say "ok" and then the
program closes and I get a Microsoft "send error" report.

I am not sure how to go about identifying the problem - or whether I need to
re-install the program.

It never actually gives me an actual error, it looks like it is replacing the
fonts (which is strange, since the file I created contained the fonts on my
computer) then the microsoft error reporting window pops up. I copied the
top line of the information on the "error reporting window"
AppName: mspub.exe AppVer: 6.0.1.438 ModName: ptxt9.dll
ModVer: 9.0.0.2110 Offset: 0005c31d

I don't actually receive any error messages upon startup of the program. It
loads normally and I can actually open about 50% of the existing publisher
files on my system without any problem. The other 50% give me a problem and
the program shuts down as I had written previously. I can't identify the
common thread, if any, that exists between these problem files.

I'll look into this solution and see if it helps with the problem. I
appreciate your continued feedback.
