PowerPoint 2003 adding sounds

I want to add a sound file in PowerPoint 2003 so I can email it to someone
and they can hear the sound file. PowerPoint used to do this and now I don't
see the selection to add it to the presentation or add with a link to the
file on the PC.

If possible use a wav file
Change the settings in tools>options>general "link sounds with file size
greater than" to 50000 - this will mean the sound is embedded not linked.
Insert > movies & sounds > sounds from file to add the sound

If its not a wav file put the file in the same folder as the presentation
add as above and send the whole folder.

Hi Thanks for the quick response.
My wav file is actually bigger than that so unfortunately I have to link it.
It is in the same folder as the ppt file.
Not quite sure why it won't play the audio
