how do i apply a word template to all pages of a doc?

when i open a new file with the template it only applys it to the first page,
and not the pages after that

Are you using File>New and then selecting the Template?

Maybe the template has a First Page Header/Footer set up in it and that is
why you think it is being applied only to the first page.

i have my logo and some green lines as a border: these all dont come out on
the pages after the 1st pg. the only thing that does work is the footer that
i put on there. is there something i have done wrong?

Since you mentioned logo and a border, you can easily get those to show up
on every page by anchoring them in the header or footer. For more info, see
