How do I change a heading style, shows caps in doc, in TOC sm cas

I am working on a document where the table of contents is set up from the
headings in the document. I have several headings that show up different in
the TOC than in the document. I tried to delete them & retype but it still
shows up the same. I am new at using the TOC and TC fields, nothing I have
tried has worked. Anyone have any suggestions??
