How do I change the color of one number on a list?

I have a numbered list and I want to highlight certain items on it. I would
like to do this by changing the color of the number for the important items.
I can't figure out how to change the color of one number without it change
all the numbers.

Select just the paragraph mark of the numbered item and apply the color
formatting to it.
