How do I clear mail too large to transmit?

I lost sight of how big the file for some pictures were and attached too many
to my mail. My outlook states it is sending them but after 24 hours I
conclude that they are stuck and I cannot clear them because "transmissionhas
started". How do I get rid of the blockage?
