How do I close hyperlinked PPT slide after viewing in Slide Show?

I am hyperlinking several external PPT files into a Slide Show. When I select
the return button in the hyperlinked slide, the files do not close.

I wouls like to hav the files close once the return action buttton is
selected.

Link your "return" button to End Show and you'll be returned to the point of
origin and the file will be closed.

It sounds like you have no control over this. The "Return" button on the
hyperlinked files should be to "Exit Show." If it is doing something
else, and you can't change it, I don't think there is much you can do. If
they are your external files, then make the link for the "Return" button
take the Action Setting of Hyperlink to "End Show."
