How do I configure Entourage not to downloadautomatically e-mail from my ISP mail server?

I am new to using Entourage in Office 2008 for Mac. I have used Eudora for years and was able to leave e-mail on the server until I wanted to download it to my machine. Please HELP!

Tools > Accounts > (your account) > Options > Server Options

Ivan,

Welcome to Entourage. I just did the same thing last week. I have used
Eudora for probably 20 years. My office just switched to an Exchange server
so we have moved away from POP. Are you using Entourage as a POP client or
with an Exchange server? If you are using it with an Exchange server, then
the email is automatically kept on the server unless you delete it or move
it to a folder on your local computer. If you are using it as a POP client,
then you can go to the Entourage menu and Account Settings. Double-click on
the Account and click on the Options Tab. There you will see the setting for
"Leave a copy of each message on the server" with options for how long to
keep it there before deleting.
