I have designed a brochure on MS Publisher. The company that I am sending it
to, require the brochure to be in "STANDARD HTML." Can anybody tell me how I
can do this?? Thank You

Selecting publish to the web from the file drop down menu will create an
HTML set of files

thanks spike for replying. I have done that step, but what my advertising company is asking is for the file to be converted to "STANDARD HTML." I guess there are different types of HTML, so she is saying that I need to get a "Code" to convert to the Standard version. do you know anything about that?

The only other HTML option in publisher that I know of is:

Select file
Select save as
(at the bottom of the new window) Save as type, Using the down arrow at the
right, Select Single File Web Page (mht)

Let's see if anybody will chime in with a better answer for you ~

You will see many other options there also

The answer depends a bit on which version of Publisher you are using. Pub
2003 can produced filtered and unfiltered html code. Pub 2007 can produce
only filtered. Pub 2000 produces different code. Also how is this code going
to be used by the company? Spike's suggestion to convert to a mht file might
be the best solution for you. Get back to us about how the code is going to
be used, and which version of Publisher you are using and we might be able
to give you a better answer.

I am using Publisher 2007. What the company wants to do essentially is to do
an "E-mail" marketing, promoting buyers to visit our website. To do that
they will placing an ad (in STANDARD HTML) to the designated e-mail list.

You can offer them the filtered html code that Pub 2007 produces and see if
that will work, but Publisher does not produce W3C standards compliant code.
You can produce the code as an index.htm file along with an index_files
folder which contains all the supporting graphics. You can also go to Tools
Options > Web tab and uncheck the option of using the supporting folder. I
think Spike's suggestion to use a .mht file might be your best choice for
your use. It is a self-contained, single page website that can be inserted
into some email. Ask the company if that will work.

Also be aware that Pub 2007 features email merge, and you might be able to
do your own marketing. It is a bit finicky though.

you mean valid html....Publisher produces kinda a proprietary html -

there is no magic way to convert it...you'd have to redo the page/web in an
html editor like Dreamweaver, Expression Web, etc.

I get over 200 a day already. Don't want no more...but the Publisher email
merge can be a great tool for a small business. Especially if used
correctly....and perhaps moderation.

David,

Long time, no type. Very long, cry-me-a-river stories.

Anyway, when I need to send a newsletter, I use phpList (or something
like that!) that allows me to create HTML compliant e-mail. My web host
offers it as an auto-install program.
