How do I copy the field code info (not the data) from one documen.

When I cut and copy field code info, it copies the data and not the
statement. I want to use the field code info in another document. Can I copy
the code and paste it in another document?

Are you pasting into another Word document? It should be copying the field
code. Are you sure it's not? If you're copying something like a date or
document name field, i.e., such that the field should display differently
after being pasted, the field would need to be updated after being pasted
into the destination document. To update the field after pasting, select the
field and press F9.
