How do I copy to a cd so that sound will play on my laptop?

I saved a new presentation that was created on my home computer onto a cd.
When I try to play it in my laptop, the slideshow works but the sound does
not. I have both narraration and music in the presentation.

Can you tell me how to get the sound to work on my laptop?

I have Media player 10 on my laptop and PowerPoint viewer 97

Probably the link has broken.

If the music is in wav format, you can embed the music into the
presentation. If you are using other format, you can also try to convert the
music into wav format using sound editor such as Audacity (
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ). By doing so, the music will be embedded
into the presentation (preventing the link from breaking) and you do not have
to email the music.
Read here about how to embed your music into the presentation:

Alternately,
Try creating a new folder and move the ppt and music into the folder.
Now, open ppt and reinsert the music to create a pathless link.
Then, save your presentation.
