How do I default to 2000 format in publisher XP?

I have some end users that are trying to jointly work on some publisher
files. One has Publisher XP, the other Publisher 2000. I know that
Publisher XP can save to the 2000 format, and that works fine in this
situation when he remembers to save it as a 2000 format file, but
occasionally he'll forget. So I was curious if there was a way to set
Publisher XP to default back to save in the 2000 format. Thanks for any
help in advance.

No, there is no way to do this. What's more, constantly swapping between
versions for concurrent working on files is a bad idea, as you get
formatting loss at each conversion.
Publisher 2002 and 2003 share the same file format, so you don't get the
issue.

(N.B. There is no such program as Publisher XP, the version of Publisher in
the Office XP family is named Publisher 2002.)
