How do I format a left-bound manuscript?

I have an assignment that says to set the document as a left-bound mauscript.
Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Your instructor is probably trying to get you to learn about the gutter
setting in Page Setup. For those with even basic math skills, adding a
gutter (even with "mirror margins") seems to me no different from just
adding the same amount to the Left or Inside margin, but perhaps there are
ramifications I am not aware of.
