How do I format tasks in a Project Template?

Is there a way to format a plain task - not summary; not critical, etc... in
different color? If Text Styles are the answer, then how do you designate
each task as one of those categories in the Text Styles items to change?
i.e. "Highlighted Tasks"

Hi KarenF,

You are very close. Use the "marked tasks" option. Insert the field called
"Marked" and set the field to "Yes". Then choose Format > Text Styles and
use "marked tasks." You can hide the Marked field if you no longer need it.

The Highlighted option is for tasks that have been selected through a
Highlight filter.

If it is only a few tasks, you may find it faster to just select the tasks
and set the color through the Format > Font command.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

JulieS:
I don't think that works for a Template. I can change different tasks
different colors for projects, but not on a template so that when someone
brings up that template, the task is already color-coded.

Thanks,

Hi Karen,

I tested both the Format > Text Styles, Marked tasks as well as the Format
Font commands in a template. They both "stuck" when opening a file based
on the template.

Are you working with Project Server? I believe when using Project Server,
new files inherit their information from the Enterprise Template and
therefore changes are not saved.

Hope this helps.

Hi Julie,
Yes - I am using Project Server. Do I need to go into Enterprise Global and
do something there? Like with the views?

Thanks for your quick responses!!!
