How Do I Get an mdi fiel to open by double clicking

My .mdi files don't open when I double click.

I know that the MDI file format has to be associated with the file type -
however Microssoft Document Imaging doesn't show up on the list of programs
to choose from and I can't find it when I browse.

It's installed (From the Programs Menu I can select Office: Office Tools and
the select the Microsoft Document Imaging application and can open it that
way). While this works I'd like the convience of being able to double click
the file to open.

If the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926198 don't work,
the Microsoft Document Imaging app uses MSPView.exe in
\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MODI\...
