How do I get autotext to work accross several networked computers

I work in an office where there are 8 networked computers and we are trying
to develop a database of standard text that all users can access. we have
found that although the Word "autotext" function works effectively, we have
to go around to each individual machine and update the autotext fields. Is it
possible to save our standard text document on the central server (that
everyone can access) and add and update new "autotext" fields that all users
can use without having to update each individual machine.

Autotext is saved in templates - by default in the individual normal.dot
templates (which must stay individual); but they can be saved in (or moved
to) document or global templates to which all users have access. A good
start would be to point all the users to the same startup and workgroup
folders on the server and then you can put your company document templates
(not normal.dot!!!) in the workgroup folder and your add-in template with
the shared autotexts in the startup folder.
