How do I get cells in Excel to link to cells in MSP?

I exported an MSP project into Excel. I am trying to get certain cells in
Excel to link back to MSP. I used the Paste Special command, but the copied
cells show up in the Gantt Chart instead of the corresponding cells. How do
I get them to go into the cells where I pasted them?

First of all you might want to read the thread posted last week in the
Project developer newsgroup (microsoft.public.project.developer) titled:
"Autolink between MSP03 & Excel03" dated 9/29/05.

To answer your specific question, you Paste Linked an object rather than
text. Try Paste Linking text.
