how do I get my links to other documents to open in new windows?

I am using my presentation as a tutorial so it's set up as kiosk with
navigation buttons. My links go to the document but when I click the back
button it returns to the beginning of the presentation not the last slide
viewed

Check your action buttons and see what the link is. You just might need to
change the result of your hyperlink. The pre-defined buttons already have the
coding present or you might have selected the wrong button. You can also use
other shapes as your button and hyperlink them instead.
