My new email messages do not show up in my inbox until I go to another folder
and then back to the inbox folder. Then they show up.

issue #2
I get a copy of my reply email in my inbox. How do I stop this?

the one option u can try is going up to tools options in the general tab
make sure "When starting go directly into my inbox folder" is un checked
maybe that will help with the email not showing up in the inbox till after
and the other issue Im sorry I cant help with. Hope that other thing works
though. Good luck

No, I don't have a firewall. It's something very small because with my
second issue which is a copy of my replies going to my inbox, they pop up
soon as my reply is sent. This is how my new messages should populate, right?

What version of Outlook are you using? Do you have an Exchange server or
are you connecting via POP or something like that?

O.K., and you're downloading your e-mail from an ISP of some kind?

If you press F9 does the mail suddenly show up?
