How do I get rid of the question "Delete? Yes or No" in Microsoft

When I highlight a word or paragraph and hit the delete button, I get asked
"Delete? Yes or No". How do I get rid of this annoyance?

In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two boxes for
WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.
