How do I get to the document recovery task pane?

I typed a document in Microsoft Word and saved it somewhere; however, I
cannot find it. Please help.

If the word document is relatively new, try finding it through the
Recent Documents link.

In Windows XP: Click the Start button at the lower left of your screen.
Choose the My Recent Documents option out of the menu.
If your word document is listed there, select it from the list to open
it.
Once in Word, click File > Properties and click the General tab.
The location of the file is listed by "Location".

You could also try searching for the document through the Search option
also accessed through the Start menu.
