How do I import an excel File into Publisher or Powerpoint

I wish to import an Excel File or worksheet into either Publisher or
Powerpoint to use as a Slide. Can anyone suggest a suitable way to do this?

Insert, object, Microsoft Excel Worksheet, click from file on the left in this
dialogue.
