how do i import data from excel into project?

When I use the wizard and map the contents from excel to project I am not
able to import the activity (work) descriptions. I end up with blank fields
in Project even though the preview looks OK.

erikwinn,
This is just a wild guess but are there any tabs, line feed, or other
extraneous leading characters in the task names, (I assume that's what
you mean by "work descriptions"), in Excel?

Hi Erik,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Don't forget that the correct field for Task Name is simply "Name".
