How do I insert © into a footer?

How do I insert the copyright symbol into a footer? I have tried cut and
paste and copy and cannot do it. when i click on the text box it asks what's
this? Help! this is driving me nuts!

You can create your own text box in place of the footer placekeeper in the
Slide Master and click "Insert", "Symbol", and find it there under a font
like "SansSerif".

View Header Footer and in the footer window, hold down the Alt key and on the
number pad insert Alt+0169 ©
