How do I insert a blank line between tasks in MS Project?

I am trying to combine multiple small projects (and their associated tasks)
on one page. I cannot figure out how to insert a blank line between them; I
have to insert a 'New Task' to get spacing, but then MS Project automatically
includes duration, etc. Any thoughts are appreciated.

markinsco,
You should be able to either hit the "return" key or Insert/New Task.
Project will assign an ID to the blank task but there won't be any other
data (i.e. Name, Duration, Start, etc.) unless you enter it. The reason
there is an ID is that Project treats the "blank" as a task object even
though it has no data.

Just a suggestion. Forget about having blank tasks in your schedule. I
find they cause more trouble than they are worth.

I agree with John on blank rows causing problems. Why don't you replace those
blank rows with summary task? This will keep your projects seperated.

Just a personal experience; one instance of the "more trouble than they are
worth" referred-to below is that inserting blank tasks completely stuffs up
levelling in MS Project 98 and MS Project 2002 before SP1 (can't speak for
other versions). Levelling process will stop at the first empty task, and
will not level after that. Of course, it will not issue an error message or
inform you that it has stopped - it just silently does so. We've also had
odd problems with macros that iterate over all tasks. Our solution was to
remove blanks tasks.

Cheers,

Mal.
